Responsibilities:

  1. Staff Supervision:
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of food service staff, including cooks, servers, and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance.
    • Provide training, guidance, and feedback to staff members, ensuring adherence to food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and service procedures.
  2. Customer Service:
    • Greet customers, take orders, and address inquiries or concerns in a friendly and professional manner, striving to enhance the dining experience and resolve any issues promptly.
    • Monitor service levels, wait times, and customer satisfaction, intervening as needed to maintain high standards of service and address customer feedback.
  3. Food Production and Quality Control:
    • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring consistency, portion control, and adherence to recipes and quality standards.
    • Conduct regular quality checks of food items, presentation, and temperature, addressing any deviations and maintaining food safety and hygiene at all times.
  4. Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment, and place orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels and prevent shortages or overages.
    • Receive and inspect deliveries, verifying quantities, quality, and freshness of products, and store items properly to minimize waste and ensure proper rotation.
  5. Sanitation and Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation guidelines, and food handling procedures, conducting regular inspections and corrective actions as needed.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, dining areas, and service stations, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces, to meet sanitation and hygiene standards.
  6. Administrative Tasks:
    • Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documentation related to sales, inventory, staffing, and operational activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial management, monitoring expenses, labor costs, and revenue to optimize profitability and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in food service management or hospitality is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in food service or restaurant management, with demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge of industry best practices.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and manage a diverse team, foster teamwork, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities to interact professionally with customers, staff, and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and health code standards to ensure compliance and prevent foodborne illnesses.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
